Hello,
I have a 2013 Impala Flex fuel 3.6l. I recently had my check engine light come on with a P0496 code. I took it to a local mechanic, because my Chevrolet dealer took four hours just to do an oil change and I didn't feel like waiting on them to take forever just to make me pay them a lot of money. The mechanic told me to buy a new fuel cap and drive regularly for about a week to see if that fixed the issue. Well it didn't, so I took it back to him. He did a test on it and said it was my purge valve solenoid. I paid him $125 to fix that and the car did great for the next two weeks. When I tried remote starting the vehicle, it wouldn't start. I manually turned the vehicle on to find another code. I checked it with my OBD2 scanner and now it is showing a P0455. I am now lead to believe that it could be the canister solenoid. I was going to go about this by repairing it myself. However, the part is $70 and I don't want to replace it if I don't know that this will fix it. When I clear the code on my car (only done twice) it doesn't come back on until I try to remote start my vehicle. I'm not sure if anyone else has had this issue or not and if they have, I'd like to know how you went about fixing the issue.
-Thanks
