I’ve been mulling over what kind of hood treatment I’d like to do and after a little research, I’ve noticed hood louvers have been a factory upgrade on many GM performance models over the years.
After a bit of digging for sizes, I came across these made for 2010-15 Camaro and I think they might go well with factory hood lines. Also considering some stripes in the indentations?

Just another day at work but I posted this on the Facebook group just for fun[emoji41] But I gotta admit I love how this almost looks black in low light and the chrome delete just gives it the right attitude [emoji16] I was happy to get this car for a new DD but it really has taken a grip on my heart. I haven’t driven my convertible once since I brought Luna home [emoji12]

Tint installed yesterday [emoji41] 35% all side and rear windows, same on windshield strip.

This is the only legal tint you can use here in VA but I think it will help the sun glare

You are already illegal. Front side windows in VA are supposed to be a max of 50%

Oh well, I was told by the installer this was the legal limit and he wouldn’t install anything darker(not that I wanted it) If I get ticketed I’ll be back over there with a copy and questions.

The Camaro hood louvers came today and I just had to get an idea of how they might look. The pic is terrible (night shot under harsh driveway light) but the angles look good and I think after paint they could look awesome [emoji41][emoji123]

Pep Boys would be proud.

I have always been a function over fashion kind of person, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
I don't hate it, and it will absolutely look better when color coordinated and in better light. But with my "function" mentality, I do tend to prefer things that look like air scoops to be there for a mechanical reason. Whereas logos, trim, etc... always look good to me because they have no assumed function and really their only purpose is to look good.

Sometimes less is more. In the auto world this is definitely true. Let me refer back to an image of the Fonz jumping the shark that was misunderstood last time it was posted...

I totally get where you're coming from. I would actually prefer they were functional myself, but one doesn't have to look far at factory peformance models to find scoops/extractors that are purely there for show. My own 79 Trans Am had a shaker hood scoop that was blocked off! Where was the logic behind that one? LOL Other heat extractors I've seen that claimed to be functional, by the time the water/rain catch trays were in place, I question how effective they were at all. At any rate, thanks for the input.

The image was not misunderstood. "Jumping the Shark" has been around for most of my life and I fully understand the concept of "Less is More." In the end, it remains an opinion and while you are 110% entitled to your point of view, it will not be the final decision maker for my car. There are those who think I should leave the car alone, some who think I shouldn't have blacked the chrome and others who do not approve of the rear spoiler. In that same sense, I look at a car with whitewalls, wire wheels, metalflake paint and wild interior colors, which is not my bag of chips by any means, but it remains someone else's vision that makes them happy. I respect their time, workmanship and effort even if I don't care for the execution. That being said, there are times I have done something to one of my cars and afterward felt it just wasn't working and I ripped it off and tried another angle. I'm aware my choices don't meet with everyone's approval, but I appreciate the input.

The grille surround I painted has been taking a lot of rock chips so today I wrapped it with the carbon fiber vinyl. It’s got a few rough spots but I’m interested to see how it holds up [emoji106]

I’ve done a LOT of study lately on proper prep of ABS parts for paint. I’m committed to taking my time and make this color match as good as possible. Today I washed the parts down with Dawn, Brillo and Scotchbrite. This removes any residual mold release and the Scotchbrite eliminated virtually all of the small scratches (these were returns but never mounted) I’m gonna let them air dry completely overnight and move on to primer.

Sanded and repainted the louvers in Satin Black yesterday. Carbon fiber wrap in the rear vent facing the windshield.
Not perfect results but I’m still happy with the results.

Still waiting on my custom Roadhawk decals but aside from that, I’ll say the mod list is done [emoji41]
