Recurring Wheel Speed Sensor Harness Problem

For about 6 years, my 2013 Impala Limited LT has had a wheel speed sensor harness problem that causes my Stabilitrac light to come on randomly when I turn left.

It usually does it every morning when I pull out of my driveway. My driveway isn't very steep but I wonder if the weight of my car shifting onto that wheel within 10 seconds of me starting it up is causing it.

It will randomly make a weird noise and activate the warning light at other times when turning left, even on level ground.

I had the left front wheel bearing assembly and sensor replaced in February. The speed sensor harness was replaced in March. Before both of those things happened, my ABS warning light came on and wouldn't go off.

Two weeks ago, the Stabilitrac light started coming on again. Has anyone else had this problem?

*Usually*, when this happens when turning left, it is the right wheel harness that is the problem. Instead of replacing the hub, just replace the harness - it's very inexpensive and relatively easy to replace (does require soldering though).

Here is a post where I talk about it a little more, which a few pictures:

Hope that helps.

EDIT: You can get the harnesses dirt cheap on EBay. I used ones similar to this and the repair is still going stong years later:

This is exactly what's going on with my 8th gen 2013.
I hooked up the Tech II and it returned a code C0040.
Think I'll try the harness swap before replacing the wheel bearing.

Code C0040 has three separate suffixes. Sorry, I can't remember what they are, but the one I have is for an "erratic" Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor.

This would logically imply an intermittent short.
