How to identify FLEET Impalas.

While helping others I've realized that it might be helpful to know if a particular vehicle was built as a "fleet" vehicle. Is there a particular code that is common to all model years?

I realize the two police versions exist and their codes are known here.

But what about corporate fleet vehicles and rental company vehicles, is there a code if first sold there AND could it indicate something is different about it?

Thanks.

Okay so is it safe to assume there are zero 1995~2011 "fleet" Impalas except the two police versions? Sorry, trying to get it right.

I guess when a member asks for help we will almost never know if their Impala has fewer features than normal production. And very often they won't know either. So we have to take all circuits into account every time and we'll always be guessing and wondering why no suggested solutions solve it.

Not gonna buy a carfax on another person's car!

I'm gonna go back thru that list of GM RPO Codes. Maybe it's possible to make a list by RPO# and Model Year. After that us done, maybe the Senior brains here can annotate each listed RPO with known differences compared to normal production.

Then Members could search their RPO label.

I really suspect this info can help solve some of these weird electrical gremlins being posted.

All trim levels were purchased by National and Avis. I rented several Impala SS & LTZ trims between 06 & 09 and several W body LTZ models through 2016. The GTP & GXP Pontiacs were in rental fleets as well. I even rented an 03 or 04 Bonneville GXP with a Northstar.
I drove a rented 04 Grand Prix GTP from Seattle to Prince George via Abbotsford, Kelowna, Vernon, Kamloops, and Blue River. I drove back down rt 97 through Whistler past Duffy lake etc.

They didn't seem to be de-contented but I wouldn't be shocked to see Thrifty Budget and Hertz de-contenting vehicles.

Wow. I have two large pdf's, one for GM RPO's and another for AC Delco RPO's. Neither is dated and no e-stamp.

There are way too many FLEET RPO's. Many are defined as being for corporations including rent/lease. Two just sat Taxi. Others name specific taxi companies. Military and Police but none of the police RPO's are same as the two I see around here.

So my guess, based on a comment on here, is these lists are not comprehensive and might just cover a few model years.

So there is no use in going to any effort here.

I'm going to keep my eyes open for dated RPO lists for GM and AC Delco. I personally would like lists covering 1995-2005 and 2006-2011 and 2012-2020. Or at least combined lists somehow covering 1995-2020. Unlikely to happen.

This RPO idea was a stupid idea my bad lol.

RPO codes are valid for a specific Years and Chassis. They get recycled.

Back in the foggy mists of time they were in the front pages of the paper parts books and later in the microfiche pages.
At this point the parts books are all electronic.

Confused. LT is Luxury Touring. It's body and cabin stuff. Not drivetrain. Its not L for Limited. As I recently learned (thanks to folks here) the Impala Limited was only available for what, three model years, is that right? Am I reading things wrong!

^+1. You've got it right, lol. '12/'13 Impalas came in 3 trim levels: LS/LT/LTZ. LS came from the factory with 16" wheels, no spoiler, no remote start, single climate control hvac, FE1/FE2 suspension and no fold down rear seats. LT came with 17" wheels, spoiler, remote start, dual climate control hvac, FE2 suspension and fold down rear seats. LTZ came equipped like the LT along with 18" wheels, FE3 suspension, leather interior and Bose premium radio/sound system. '14-'16 Impala "Limited" also came in 3 trim levels: LS/LT/LTZ. I've noticed fewer sunroofs, fold down rear seats, spoilers, etc. on the fleet vehicles due to "fleet delete", lol. Iirc, most police/taxi vehicles were LS variants. Powertrains on all the above vehicles were the same: 6 cyl. 3.6 VVT (~305 HP) mated with the 6-speed auto tranny (6T70). The old body style "Limited" ('14-'16) was "fleet-only" and was produced at the same time as the new body style Impala.

@Jeepster09

I like that Sail badge. You said yours is 2015 Impala LT Limited. Is that badge factory for 2015? Or did you retrofit them yourself? I'm tempted!
