So while I was out yesterday I went to Autozone and got my codes scanned and they told me I need a new fuel tank pressure sensor. Its 44.68 from Autozone. Rockauto wants 50 something for it. The part number is SU1390 but it doesn’t look like what I saw last night. Either way is it hard to replace? What would happen if I don’t replace it?

They are very easy to replace on the car in your avatar... lift up the carpet in the trunk behind the back seat, remove the fasteners(7?) holding down the access plate, remove access plate and swap out sensor on top of fuel pump.

Not replacing is unlikely to cause any drivability issues or damage. but it is a pollution control sensor.

The people at autozone told me I would end up not being able to pump gas. Like when I go to fill up it’ll stop like it’s full before it’s actually full and it’ll do that a couple times and then it’ll be full. Autozone said it’ll just get worse and eventually I won’t be able to pump any gas at all. Was that them lying in attempt to scare me into buying something that can wait?
