2004 Impala LS. The air bag light stays on. Anybody know what the problem may be?

Did GM use a POD sensor system in the 04's? Because then TSS's suggestion is feasible... otherwise it sounds more like a code error problem. Altho whats wrong with the air bag being on? :lol:
I'm pretty sure it's usually a broken clock spring, but to know for sure you either need to get the body codes read, or replace it and see if the light goes out.
