Right rear rim got hot, so went to the dealership and they confirm that the brake was sticking, and found parking brake out of adjustment. So they recalibrated parking brake and replace the parking brake control module. This was june 13. Sunday june 15, driving down the highway for about 5 miles notice white smoke coming from right rear of car, got off highway and pull into parking lot the rim was very hot with a lot of brake dust on the rim. So now i guess the pads are shot and so is the rotor, what could be causing the right rear to hit and miss like this? The car has 2925 miles.

I haven't seen the parking brakes on this model, so I don't have a good handle on them. But, generally speaking, there are three reasons for a brake to stick like this.

1. A problem with the self-adjuster on the parking brake causing it to over-tighten itself (if it has a self-adjuster - not all parking brakes do).

2. Lack of lube on the caliper slide pins - shouldn't be the case for a new car, especially one that's just had brake service.

3. A leaky caliper or bad master cylinder causing the piston not to retract resulting in brake drag. Again, this should have been inspected when the dealer serviced the brake.

One other thought - I wonder if a malfunctioning ABS module could cause the brake to drag (but I doubt it).

It's a 2014, so it's under warranty. Take it back to the dealer, and explain what's going on. Firmly, but nicely, tell them they need to get it right this time.
