2013 Impala LTZ. Acting all sorts of crazy and I believe the TCM is bad or the wiring to it. I cannot seem to figure out the location. Does anyone know the location to the TCM?

In the air box. The smaller of the two is the tcm, the larger is ecm. Well protected and gets air flow to keep them cool.
I checked and didn't see it there. Are you sure? When I look up the part on autozone or wherever... it's this huge black thing. It doesn't look like the TCM I've seen in videos and stuff is why I'm confused.

TCM is an electric device. Brain.
Valve bodies are Hydraulic devices in trans.
Some TCM's are on the trans.
Some are remote.

I had all kinds of crazy issues with my 15 LT. Thought it was my battery, starter, and ignition before we pulled out the power probe and found out it was the power distribution fuse or something like that. Its a giant fuse that sits on top to the battery with a bunch of power wires connected to it. One of the nuts was loose causing all kinds of craziness

It's good to remember what model year group is being discussed. See thread title.

There's plenty of incorrect information out there on this model's TCM location.

For correct future reference, following is a hard to find actual TCM swap, in-vehicle and on camera to extent physically possible.

2012~2020 Impalas use the 3.6 with 6T70 or the 2.5 with 6T45 regardless of body style, all have same design. I expect any vehicle using 6T70 or 6T45 to be same, however I respectfully acknowledge I'm not inspired to go that far in this 3.6 6T70 conversation. I will however post a current url to the 6T70 manual for those mechanics who know how to apply it. And an image helping others to locate it even after the current url goes away one day.

Feel free to post better videos with good identification when you see them pop-up. Or maybe even url's for free pdf downloads.

Meanwhile, in order to clarify:

Yes. You are of course right. We all make mistakes and those who don't are not doing anything. I wonder how this will turn out.
