New guy here, been a lurker for several years. I'm wondering what the experts here feel my car is worth. Sorry for the novel, but I feel it's necessary.
After two months up for sale, I haven't even been able to get someone to open the door, much less drive it. Usually common sense says this means I'm priced too high, but I truly feel I'm priced right. It just doesn't get any attention at all. Yes, it's clean. Yes I have it on countless sites. Yes, I have large signs all over it. Yes I move locations once or twice a week to high traffic areas.
Obviously it's a 2008 Impala SS. Bone stock down to the paper air filter. 135K miles, so yes, it's a bit high (when it was daily driven, I would drive 90% highway 30 miles 1-way to work). The only option it does not have is the Bose system. No collisions, however it was stolen in 2008, so Autocheck does consider that an accident. No damage reported. Clean green title. I am including my Superchips Cortex 2950 tuner and code reader with the car, which is still worth the same as I paid for it, about $250-300. I purchased it strictly to disable AFM (you guys know why) and read any codes that may appear, not to squeeze extra performance out of it. I know people are usually scared of the word "tune", therefore I omitted everything about it, except that I'm including the device. I figured I'd explain if someone was serious about it. Thankfully, it went from burning a full quart every 750 miles to not burning a drop between oil changes. Worth every penny, and has already paid for itself just in oil in the 50K I've had it. Always in the garage at night, never seen hail, no rust whatsoever, and has only seen light snow once. But I made sure it got a thorough wash w/underbody wash the next day when it was above freezing. Paint is near perfect except a few rock chips from the highway.
But here's the best part. I have truly one-of-a-kind maintenance records. I have everything I've EVER done to the car neatly organized into a red binder (matches the car). I even have a receipt for every gallon of fuel I've put in the tank if requested (I kept them to prove the car has had an exclusive diet of Top-Tier premium 91 octane E-0 fuel, which I feel no other SS could say). From day one, I felt if I should ever sell this car, whoever buys it shouldn't have to ask questions about anything. I'd be able to back up what I claim 100%. I'll try to give just the basics:
-Valvoline full synthetic oil changes every 4,000 miles with premium filters (usually WIX)
-Transmission has been *properly* serviced and is still 100% original and strong after 135K. I have zero reason to believe this transmission will quit before 200K. I'd truly be shocked. It still shifts like brand new. It helps that the fluid has been dropped several times (made easier with a pan that has a drain plug) and the filter has been changed
-Has matching tires that have less than 20K miles on them
-Coolant has been *properly* flushed (meaning power flushed by a real radiator shop)
-NO cheap-o parts, my cars always get the best quality available
Plugs and wires, power steering, wheel bearings, fuel system cleaners (I only use Chevron Techron), car washes, you name it... it's all documented with the date & mileage
Extensive and thorough is the understatement of the century.
I've compared to every SS for sale within 200 miles. I'm far and away not only the cheapest, but nicest. Best bang for the buck unquestionably. For example, the same exact car with 70K more miles on it and a salvage title is more expensive than mine at a local dealer. That's not even placing a value on maintenance history (which I'm not doing)...
All of that said, I started up around $7k, but I'm currently priced firm at $5,999. It's worth that to me, and I have no problems keeping it for less. It books higher than what I'm asking. Hopefully I'm not breaking any rules by posting my actual CL link, but here it is just so you can get a better idea, along with some pics:

Since this forum should know more than anyone else about this car, do you all feel I'm justified asking this price? Am I too high? Too low? I just can't wrap my head around getting ZERO attention when I'm priced below book with solid records. I've sold many cars with little trouble, yet this one leaves me dumbfounded. Please be [polite but] critical. Maybe I'm missing something...?
Thank you very much for reading this novel and taking time to reply. You all have unknowingly been a huge resource to me for several years, and I wish I would have contributed sooner. Thanks again!
