Drop spindles or lowering springs?

I just picked up a '94 wagon. I want to lower the front. I have a set of wheels/tires on the way (255/35R20 on 20x8.5 wheels). I know drop spindles won't change any geometry other than ride height, but dang! $411 is a lot of money for those spindles. For half that price I can get lowering springs & better handling. My question is in regards to the negative camber that will happen if I put lowering springs in. Is it significant enough to wear my inner tread quickly? I don't want to be buying 20" tires 3 times a year. 99.9% of my driving is hwy, so if that's the case, I might be stuck having to get the drop spindles. I just hate the fact that they're over $400 for these cars ONLY and just over $200 for all other cars! Thank you!

Lowering your front with just springs won't affect your negative camber or steering too much, but your steering will have a slight pull to the right. You can get aligned, but most alignment places will never get it align just right.

As far as 2" drop spindles go, yeah they ain't cheap. Especially, if you want the Belltech's. I bought mine for$430 and that was like 6 years ago. I still haven't put mine in, bcuz I want to put 18X9.5 shoes up front and that's too wide for a drop spindle.

I have a guy that wanted to buy mine, but he still hasn't committed to purchasing them. I'm selling mine for $200 plus whatever S/H would be. If your interested, PM me your email and I'll send pics of the spindles.

1995 9C1 Caprice, 318,000 miles, 2" drop, wide whites, bilstiens, bmr front, rear, uppers & lowers, moog front-end rebuild, 2800 stall, 3.5 MAF, aftermarket dual 13" electric fans, and decent flat-black paint job!

I just figured that the larger the rolling diameter and the wider the tire, the tire wear will be more prominent even with a slight negative. Maybe I'm wrong. I'd just rather have the drop spindles anyway.

I could put 22s on this thang! His 18s don't work because they're 9.5 inches wide (too wide). My 20s are only 8.5" wide. Perfect size!

oldskoolcaprice....I saw that you had some lowering spindles for sale and was wondering if they were still available? I have a 1991 Roadmaster Wagon that I'm trying to lower, would these be the parts I need? Thanks for your help. BTW I would need a price shipped to 46383 if they are still available. Thanks...Mark

I'm not trying to hi-jack TITANIC's thread here. But, currently, the spindles are pending payment...

If you have the money, I would spurge on Belltech spindles, if you wanna lower it, without using bags. The good thing about drop spindles, is that you get to lower your car without compromising your cars suspension. The lower you go on springs the more unconfortable the ride becomes. Also, keep in mind, You can't go any wider than an 8.5" rim, on that same note, I wouldn't imagine going any wider that 275 series tire either.

Question suspention on a 77 impala wagon

im having problems figuring out the rear suspention on the rear of my impala wagon since it has the factory air ride on it already anyone know how to put any mods on the rear suspention wit the factory air ride

I'm on air and beltechs. From my experience you can drop with springs w/o too much of an issue IF you can find a place who will go through the trouble or aligning it correctly. Same with my ride. I threw a real mechanic a few extra bucks on top of the price of alignment to run back and forth threw the UCA shims to get it right.

First time you just want them to get it close, drive it for a while so you fully settle in the springs, then go back to have it finished. Of course by the time to pay all that the spindles are a little closer in price.

On another note, the off brand spindles out there for our cars are very hit-and-miss on quality and that's if they even fit. Beltechs are the way to go.
