Ok heres the problem. On my 2000 base Impala the rubber trim strip around my windshield sticks up and it looks terrible. I temporarily got it to stay down with doubel sided mounting tape but this only lasts a few weeks and thats if it dosen't get rained on. What could I use to glue it down more permentally. It is purely cosmetic and I have no leaks but it looks really bad. The glass shop said I could replace the whole windshield because its attached to it but thats a major waste of cash as there is nothing wrong with the windshield. Any help is greatly apprecieated. Thanks.

Have you tried actual automotive trim adhesive?

The shop you went to is incorrect. If you can locate a new molding, they can remove your current windshield and apply the new molding to it. Cost shouldnt be way over the top, since you should just be paying for labor to remove and re-insert the glass.

still, id go with TSS's idea
