Why is the Chevrolet Caprice called the "Official Car Of Freedom" in Saudi Arabia?

Whoever I talked to in Saudi Arabia proudly referred to his Caprice by that title. What does that mean? How did it come by it?

they say this because its big and roomy and rides really good, its one of the most popular cars over there ,they really like them, and gas isn't a worry to them,it only cost them a few dollars to fill one up,but there a well known vehicle over there,,i have a friend that buys and sells to an importer over there, and he cant buy enough of those things to send over, and they prefer some of the older ones over the newer ones also, but hats the reason, good luck i hope this help,s.

garcia is pretty much stupid. small and good on gas? ha...they're huge..but not bad on gas, but i wouldn't say they're GOOD. caprices in general, if they're anything like the ones they built in the U.S., are very good, well built cars that last forever if taken care of. they kind of have a cult-following.
