Car is rear wheel drive and I'm just looking to use it in an enduro race so only need a trans that will last 50 laps

I know the 700R4 will fit, but you will need to let the computer know you made a change. A T-350 should fit as well, but same deal as the 700R4. Gotta love computers!

4l80 with a little work....they are good for higher hp

Trans

TH400 should fit. So will a lot of buick/pontiac transes. The locating pins and center upper bolt hole and lower holes are in the same places. Just make a couple of half moon shaped metal brackets to bolt the remaining block holes to the upper ears on the bellhousing. Done that a few times on daily drivers just fine.

If you want an auto, go with a race prep 4l60e. Shifts harder and chicks dig 2nd gear chirps.
