I need a gas tank for a 1964 chevy impala 4dr. the problem is I can't find an original. Can someone suggest a chevy tank that will work.

If my memory serves me right (& I May be wrong) I think the '62 through '66 Impala had the same body style, so I would look for one of those models.

Another Idea, measure the size of the tank, and go to a junk yard (oops rexyling center) and find one from any other car that will be that size or a little smaller.

You might also wrap the old one in fiberglass and see if that will repair it.

Just pulled out my Chevrolet interchange book, here is the exact match. I post it like it's from the book.

1961-64 Impala

Part Number(s): 3777685
Capacity: 20 Gallons
Usage: 1961-64 full-size Chevrolet, all except station wagon.

I look at anything up to a '70, the only difference might be the filler neck behind the plate instead of on the rear fender.
