Get a Bead Buster or build one.
I have a Bead Buster 450. I fabbed a bigger one by scaling the little monster up for truck, implement, and tractor tires. They've since made a larger unit but I already have mine LOL

I have one of those tire mounting tools. I bought mine in the late 1990's. Looks like they've lightened that bar up. Mine weighs a bloody ton. I've mounted 19" truck tires on mine and the bar is just scratched.
I have one similar to a BB but it’ll scratch the hell out of the finish using it on the front. I actually did use it on the rear side of the wheel. Works great with steel rims.

I got this knockoff version for free so I can’t complain about it too much.

I notice that the Bead Busters have that thick plastic lip and my CHICOM knockoff version has more of “hook”.

My Aluminum ATV & pickup truck wheels have so much trail rash from driving in the woods I wouldn't even notice one more scratch.

I assume it's the finger that scratches the crap out of the rim.
The horrible fright bead tool on the tire changer and even a Coates machine is likely to scratch the bead in a manner similar to the bead buster foot.

I'd be tempted to put a clean folded shop rag between the finger and the rim on any wheels you're worried about.
If that finger isn't cast you might be able to widen the profile of the finger with some scrap steel, welder, and a grinder. If it's cast you may be making a weldment to replace it eventually.
A chunk of black HDPE water pipe might do the job too. Fold spindle and mutilate it to fit the finger with a torch or heat gun.
Plasti-Dip comes to mind as well but I bet it'd just peel off.

I haven’t drove it to a junk yard yet. Great gas mileage, extremely comfortable, but some of these mechanical issues I’m having is really getting old, fast.
Get a rectangle of 1/4" mesh 23ga stainless or galvanized hardware cloth to cut and set between the cabin filter and the blower. Cut it to a snug fit in the bottom of the filter cavity. The filter will hold it down against the bottom and mice don't like chewing on it.
You just saved me some trouble and money! Thanks! :D have plenty of leftover hardware cloth from built chicken coop and have found quick nests in filter intakes for both Impala and Sonic daily. This fix will be easy and keep the bastards out.

What a real PITA. The '12 bought from Kentucky was so easy. I did four bearings in the time it took this '13 from Illinois (salt-belt) to do one.

Finished the job yesterday. Replaced the rest of the wheel bearings along with all of the brake hoses, calipers, pads, and rotors and then bled the system. Was a lot of work and I'm so sore today. Total project cost with tax and shipping was $740. I just need to mail back the caliper cores. I paid a slight premium to buy the coated calipers and rotors as I'm in the rust belt.

The rear calipers were a real PITA to remove the parking brake cable. I creeped under the car and loosened the parking brake adjuster to give me some slack. Not fun at all but oddly the adjust was not seized up (lots of rust down there).

What's the black squirrel-cage looking thing in the bottom right of the pic?

^+1. I've done 3-4 rear calipers on my '12/'13's and fought that p-brake cable every time with needle-nose and vise-grip pliers. Maybe next time I'll look at the adjuster. All of my rears were leaking at the p-brake connection/shaft. I used to be a diligent user of the p-brake, but no more, lol!

That is a portable rechargeable camping fan I use to blow the dust away from me and to cool my fat self down. I keep it with my MIG welder cart. They are only $15-20 and are absolutely priceless for keeping fumes out of your face in tight spaces. Charges with USB.

Drove the other Impala back from Salt Lake last month and I'm headed back with it tomorrow. I finally had the time to upgrade the cigarette lighter with this modern QC 3.0 charger. If you do this upgrade, make sure you buy one that had an on/off switch (little rubber button on the right side of the charger).

I used a Unibit to carefully enlarge the hole, cut off the cig light power connector and spliced the wires together.

This is the charger I used:
