Mine started acting strange today. I was going about 20 mph then it jumped to 40, then down to 0, but I was still going 20. The tachometer showed 900 rpms but I know it was going faster.

Your car uses a speed sensor on the transmission and a rpm sensor off the crank shaft or possibly off the camshaft. These sensors then transmites there data to the computer on the insurment cluster. Here the information is translated to the gauge to show you how fast the engine is turning and how fast the car is moving. If both sensors were acting up I would check the gage cluster ground point first. I doubt both sensors went bad at the same time. Check the connection point behind the cluster and at each sensor.
