I installed new carpet in my Impala this weekend. When pulling out the old carpet I noticed it was wet on the passengers side near where there right foot would be but higher up towards the engine compartment. There were no holes on the floor or in the area. So it must be dripping from above. Anyone else have this problem or an idea where it most likely may be comming from. Shall I just get a new winshield installed and hope it solves the problem? Also any suggestions on how to trouble shoot this would be helpful.

Do you smell coolant? It's either a leaking heater core or your drip hose for your excess A/C condensation is clogged/missing. Check the firewall in the engine bay for a 90* elbow and hose coming down that allows the condensation to drain.

if you want to see if your windshield is leaking, spray around it with soapy water, and then take an air hose and blow around the inside of the windshield, if it bubbles up that's where your leak is.
