I am trying to troubleshoot an Impala transmission. To give you a little backround, the last GM transmission I had apart was a power glide. LOL. So, I've been told this trans has a computer within itself or it is interlinked with the vehicle's computer. Is there a book that I can aquire to tell me how to check the transmission's computer codes for faults? If you could answer this like you were talking to an old school mechanic, I'd be most appreciative.

ok, so if you're an old school mechanic.... there's this thing that was invented called the computer. Well... j/k You need a scan tool to check codes. Its not like the old days when you jumped 2 wires, and the light would flash the code. Are you having a specific problem?
