Thinking about buying a 2008 Chevrolet Impala LT..what are your thoughts?

My wife and I were recently in Orlando onvacation and we had a 2008 Chevy Impala SS as a rental car. We loved the car so much that we are now in the market to buy a new car and Im wondering what is the consensus amongst all of you when it come to the Impala? Is it a good car or a bad car. This car HAS to go at least 200000 miles.So I need something that is dependable.

Though not in the market myself I do like the 08 Impalas and if I needed one I would most likely buy one. The SS is the only sports car that is designed also as a family car. I am not familur with the 3.5 engine but the 3.4 and 3.8 have been strong performers so it should be a good one. I like the fuel management configuration. Though it can run on E-85 from what I have seen I would not use it unless in a pinch. Right now the E-85 costs more an give less milage per gallon. The car will easily go 200K plus miles with proper maintenance. Always change the timing belt/chain at the proper miliage or year interval time. Hope you enjoy and have fun driving it.
