i drive a 96 caprice which drives good,has a strong engine lt1.my engine light went off so i hook up a trouble code reader,its giving me couple codes one is 161: o2 sensor heater circuit malfunction bank 2 sensor 2. and the other code is 174: system too lean. the only problem the car gives me is when i start it up it takes couple cranks,sometimes not a lot.if you got any ideas where to start that will be great.:biggrin:

Replace that O2 Sensor, when the sensors preheater goes out that can cause a "lean" condition. Another thing to check is your vacuum lines and systems, make sure they are all in good condtion and connected (to much air will lean out the fuel mixture. Last check the fuel pressure, if the fuel pressure is below the proper limits that again can cause a lean condition by not allowing proper amount of fuel to enter the cylinders (most likely items would be the fuel regulator or fuel pump being weak).
