I found a deal on some tires.They are 225/50/18.Will these fit a stock 08 SS wheel??Stock size is 235/50/18.

They will fit, but they are narrower which means less grip, and not as tall which means the speedo will be off.

Yes, they will fit, but ...
At the tire size face value, the proposed set will be about 1/2 inch narrower and 1/2 inch short than the current set.
On the other hand, tire sizes aren't exact between manufacturers or even between model lines of the same manufacturer - so the difference may be a tad more or a tad less than face value.

You'd be better off with a 245/45/18. Yes the speedo will be off by about 2mph, but the cost of the tires goes down quite a bit(well in my neck of the woods).

What about a 255/45? That brings you much closer to the correct diameter, only off by 0.8% instead of 2.1% with the 245

255 is pretty wide for the rim IMO. I like the 245/45/18 idea if those tires are in fact cheaper. I would not go narrower than 225 or wider than 245...thats just me.

IIRC, there was only a couple of brands of 255's that will not bulge on the stock 7.5 rim and I think they were the cheap chinese brand crap. I know there's been quite a few that have done it and never had issues, but I won't recommend it.
