I havent used my spare key in quiet some time, but kept it in the kitchen cabinet. When I went to go look for it today I couldnt find it. I still have some more cleaning to do before its officially declared gone for good...

Looking online I saw this combo set that was an "uncut key" and "remote"

It says you can program yourself, but does anyone know how this works??

Here's the link to the product

^^ The product title says free programming which is instructions on how to do so. To my knowledge this is done through the factory stereo receiver.

The owners manual should have the remote programming procedure. You do it through the DIC. You can program something insane like 12 remotes.

My local hardware store has the GM transponder key blanks.

Key Duplication:

1) Insert Original Key In IGN / Turn 'ON' For FIVE Seconds

2) Insert Duplicate Key In IGN / Turn 'ON' For FIVE Seconds

3) When Indicator Light Goes Off, New Key Is Programmed

Key Origination:

1) Insert New Key In IGN

2) Turn Key 'ON'

3) Indicator Light Will Remain 'ON' For 10-15 Minutes

4) As Soon As The Light Goes Off, Turn Key To Off Position

5) Within One Minute Turn Key To 'ON' Position

6) Repeat Steps 2-5 Two More Times

7) After Third Cycle, New Key Is Programmed
