The 4.3 265 V8 in my 1996 classic made a horrible pop and stalled leaving me stranded on the side of the highway the other day. The engine is set right up and I'm sure toast. We think it dropped a valve. The question I have is will a 94-95 motor go in without changing too many things? The junkyards are saying my car is 96 only specific. From Chevy literature the only things changed on the 96 engines were the cam, exhaust manifold seals and spark plugs. What else would be different? There is a nice low mileage 1995 engine less than 45 minutes away but i wanted to make sure it would work before buying it.
