I wasn't sure if this should go in 'Autocare and Maintenance' or here..

I just need to replace the side tail light on my 1995 Impala SS. the rear one (faces the back of the car) does work. But the lens does wrap around and the side light is out.

I replaced the headlight and that was pretty straightforward. I'm not seeing how to get into the tail light though. Do I need a special tool to get that perimeter ring off of the light?

I appreciate any help. I think if someone can just get me started I can figure the rest out.

You'll need a 10mm socket to undo one bolt on the taillight housing, then there are two "nuts" that the trunk net anchors to that need to come off. You should be able to carefully pull the whole housing away from the body and replace the light.

Thanks Roadhouse, that did it. I didn't consider that those trunk net hooks could be dual purpose. Much obliged.
