^^ Illegal and I suggest you do NOT distribute

Edit: Physical paper manuals are better unless of course you have a laptop/ipad with wireless access in your barn/work place

No :giggle:

Just saying it's generally not a good idea to offer on a public forum.

If you want to get technical:

Making copies of dvd's, cd's, etc that you own is NOT illegal as long as you don't distribute :eek:k3:

Do you know for a fact that distributing THIS manual is illegal?

It says no where on any of the PDF's anything about copyright or do not distribute. It only says on some of the images courtesy of GM.

Many of the vehicle specific forums I frequent have a PDF of the factory service manual available for free download. The Dodge forum I spend a lot of time even made the damn thing a sticky.

^^ So this is just a "factory service manual"? Gotcha I thought you were talking a repair manual like haynes, etc. Those likely have copyright protection

The factory manual from Helm is definitely copyrighted by GM.
Dunno if they would get cranky or not... Probably.

The three volume set GMP09WCI is $200 new. I have a used set I picked up on Fleabay.

Electric Problems with 2006 Impala

I have a 2006 Chevy Impala. I paid $2500 this past summer at Pep Boys for A/C repair since it had stopped cooling. Before that repair the car was fine. Since this expensive repair I have had to jumpstart the battery every week to 2 weeks. I bought a new battery less than 2 months ago. And still have to jumpstart every week to 2 weeks. The alternator has been tested twice with a reliable testor & tests fine. Nothing is being left on to kill the battery. In fact the car starts fine each day in between jumpstarts. Also, the power locks started malfunctioning after the a/c repair. Only the driver door lock responds & the other 3 don't. However after each jumpstart or with new battery installation the other 3 doors involuntarily unlock. Of course then I have to manually go around & relock them & they do not respond again until jumpstart. I realize I will need to take the Impala in for repair again but am not likely to return to Pep Boys as another expensive repair there would lead to a more expensive repair in a few months. Any thoughts on what the source of this problem could be
and where to take the car?

Helm is the GM Factory manual publisher. They list the BRAND NEW Service Manual set for $200.
2008 Chevrolet Impala/Monte Carlo Service Manual Set 2 Volumes - Helm Incorporated

Don't bother with Fleabay unless it's for laughs. The manual mafia has em listed for $285. The set I just saw was well loved... It wouldn't meet ABE Books Fair condition. More like Binding Copies... I wouldn't pay over $100 for that set in that condition but they'll eventually get some rube to do it.

repair manual

So I bought a digital copy for my 2006 (should be the same for all several years)

It covers all engine types and is very detailed and very thorough. If anyone needs a copy let me know.
I would like to get a copy to help while working on my 2007 SS. My work E-Mail is [email protected] , and thank you for your time, Respectfully, Gary Thompson.

Hello there, if I am planning on transmission work such as oil change, is there a part about a trans for 2012 v6 model?

^ arkan768, atf change is easy-peasy on the '12/'13's. Much like an eng. oil change. On the bottom of the tranny, drivers side, locate the 11mm drain plug. Place a clean/empty drain pan below and remove. Funnel contents into an empty 5 qt. oil jug with a side sightglass. Replace the measured amount with new Dexron VI atf. I use Supertech Dexron VI from Wallyworld @ $4.27/qt. Takes ~4-5 qts. Don't even have to jack up the car. Filter/screen is not serviceable. Tranny has to be removed and case cracked open for that.
