The radio is lit up, no errors but when I turn it on there is absolutely no sound. Happened one day out of nowhere. No warning signs. The channel still displays and tells you whats playing and it even plays cds. With the volume all the way up, still nothing. No static at all. Is there a reset on the radio or maybe amp?

Check your fuses especially the one for the amplifier which is in the trunk if yours has one. Also check that the connector at the amp is fully plugged in.

if its all the speakers and you didnt mess with any wiring start checking all the fuses its probably the amp fuse seeing as your radio still has power.

I am having the exact same problem on an 05 Impala. The only fuse I can find is the one for the radio (15 amp / passenger side ) I do not see a separate fuse for the amp. I swapped out the amp with one I got at a junkyard, but no luck. Best Buy is telling me that to put an aftermarket stereo in, the adapter harness alone is $140, plus the dash kit, plus the radio, plus....... I just want the damn thing to work. Will check the orange or orange/blk wire for power.

Thx.

I have a 2006 Impala, the radio and the sound on the blinkers is off. I have not yet tried fuses, I'm at work now and this happened this morning. I'm a 61 yo female, what fuses in particular should I look for and can I buy fuses at Wal-Mart or must I go to auto parts store. Chevy dealer put me on hold and can't help. [email protected]. Thank you.

Foxter,

Does the display on the radio come on? IE the clock, station, etc. If it does, but you still don't have sound, it's probably not the fuse, but if it doesn't, the radio fuse for the 2005 I have is at the end of the dash on the passenger side. I'm sure if you take it to AutoZone, one of the people there will help you out. If not, I would suggest taking it to Best Buy and paying the install people $45 to do an amp bypass. Apparently, the amps go out a lot. Had I done so, I would not have spent another $300 replacing the radio. After I got the new radio installed, it still didn't work b/c the amp was bad.

Good Luck

Greetings, I had the same (no audio sound issue) from my 2006 SS. Still trying to sort out the exact problem . But I did run a hot wire to the red/white stripe wire on the amp in the trunk and everything fired up just fine.
Blinker sound + chimes + radio worked. So it must be a broken wire or faulty relay preventing power to the amp. I ran an independent fused wire for now till I can finish sorting it out.
