Tascha,

To retain your steering wheel controls with a typical aftermarket set, you will need (1) an in-dash unit that is equipped with an input port for the steering wheel controls - typically a 1/8" mini plug receptacle that is labeled "Remote", (2) the correct adapter harness for your vehicle, AND (3) a control interface unit. I used a PAC ControlPRO2 with the Sony aftermarket unit that I installed in my 2000 GMC Jimmy, and it works like a champ. PAC lists the same interface for your vehicle.

Hope this helps!
