Hi - still working on my daughters 2002 impala LS.

I'm trying to get at the orifice tube. I have the antilock controller, cruise control and master cylinder out of the way.

Any tips on getting the booster out? It's surrounded by 15mm nuts and they seem impossible to get to.

Thanks, Howard

I got it out - for those who don't know it's kind of a PIA and goes something like this:

- Disco brake pedal by removing under dash panels and retainer clip
- remove strut brace
- remove air cleaner box
- move cruise control assembly out of the way
- remove throttle and cruise cables from throttle body along with the bracket
- move ABS controller and master cylinder out of the way
- remove EGR valve
- remove EGR valve shield after un-clipping wiring harness retainers
- loosen trans dip stick
- On booster viewed from the master cylinder side there is a black tab at about 11:00. Depress and rotate booster counter clockwise to release it from it's mounting bracket.

A real joy, that sucker was tight, but now the orifice tube it all of it's clogged up glory is right there.

Thanks, Howard
