Some pics from 2 years ago.... the Wrecked Caprice went under a semi....the guy didn't even break a single bone, walked out of that car and then sold it to me after we had it here for storage till claims adjuster could show up. I was able to salvage most everything on the car. It was a refurb that we used for demo purposes for Police agencies to see our work so it had only 19,000 miles on it and I was able to use the engine and trans no problem, most interior, even the wheels. The others pics show my car after getting tired of having a fully loaded/equipped 9C1....had everything in it when I bought it and I raced it like that....made the kids smile.

Before the paint..I did the interior to my taste, all black leather (seats reshaped foam and welded in head rest supports for custom headrests, black leather with piping the same color as the exterior stripes and double stitching also same as the exterior stripe color, steering wheel from a impala stripped and wrapped in black leather with stitching to match the stripes, dashboard covered in black leather with double stitching just above and around the cluster area, console from a 96 impala was covered in black leather on top and black carpet on the lower portion along with a panel of switches made to fit where the shifter would be. The visors and rear package tray are black suede as is the headliner which somehow ended up with 3D raised flames. Carpet kit inside and in trunk are black.

Anything else was given a 3 stage dye treatment with S.E.M black. Now that I actually put it in words, I did alot of work to this old car. I didn't even write down half the stuff I have done to it.

Angel, if my Impala gets bent up any where near like that can you guys do that type of work on it?
I am glad the guy whom had driven it did not get any broken bones from that wreck. Great job on your car.
Here is a pic of mine that was taken in January 2003, I wish it still looked that good, the poor thing needs a paint job but right now I am just keeping the metal from rusting. The car was repainted about 7 years ago (before I bought it) but that was only a scuff and shoot. Now the old primer is flakeing off of the metal. I am using a product by One Step called Mar-Hyde. It tansforms rust to black primer. My poor car looks like it has black achne all over it. At least it is not a rust heap.

We can fix alot of major collision damage since we work with a body shop across from me, he is now becoming very familiar with Caprice/Impala:) In the pics, those are 2 diff. cars. The wrecked one was to show you folks how tough these cars were once built....the only things I could not save were the frame (it was literally facing up in the front corner from the impact) and a few minor things like front driver door and a handful of interior items. The other is my car in the works.

Like I said the 2 cars are not the same car, however the wrecked car gave life to many others, in my spare time myself and another mechanic here were setting up the motor from the wrecked car for twin turbo's but it ended up being transplanted in a car belonging to a member on another forum who blew his motor. Lately I have been helping people avoid getting there car totaled by insurance companies...most body shops dont know where to look for parts, insurance companies dont care and when the 2 mix, they try to total the car.

I get them to bring me the car, I GET them the parts and we repair the car rather than total it. I will see if we have pics of some so I can show ya what I mean.

sorry they are so big, and yeah i know my calipers need redone. the first time i did them, i just painted them on the car, so thats why the entire caliper isnt done. i will probably take them off and redo them all in the spring when i get ready to go into some shows.

Here's Mine

Hopefully I uploaded the picture correctly. This is my 1961 Bel Air post sedan work in progress. This is a picture of the Morrison chassis with a GM 572 crate motor installed. The exhaust system was being fabricated when this picture was taken.

I figure it might be on the road sometime next summer.

beautiful 71, not a big fan of the rims though ;)
Thanks I want to change the rims but don't know what I want to go with.
I also have the replacement fender just to lazy to put it on and also have some dammage in the rear panel between the window and trunk I guess it's the sail panel.

shouldnt have to raise it to put 22's on. maybe some cutting and/or rolling, but then again, i dont know much about that generation of impala.

No I have plenty of room all the way up to 23" without lifting the suspension or clearance issues just depends on how deep the rims are can't go too deep.
