Parking brake

I have a 2013 impala ltz with 29k miles and I'm having a problem with the e-brake. Applying the brake works fine but within the last week or two every time I take the brake off by pressing down on it and letting it come up it does not fully disengage. I have to put my foot under it to pull it towards me and then I hear the click for it disengage and the light coming off.
Does anyone know if the issue would be the pedal, the cable, or the e-brake itself?
