Over 700 hp to the front wheels!

Just read this article, and although the body is a 2004 Monte Carlo I'm sure the driveline could be put into an Impala. The engine is a LS-4 out of a 2006 Impala SS, with an added turbocharger, but what intrigued me the most was his transmission, a Cadillac 4T80E from the 1990's.
Just wondering if anyone has ever looked into putting this tranny in a newer Impala? And would it be plug and play with the computer in a 2006-2008? Lots of fun hot rodding these cars but the electronics always seem to be an issue.

Interesting. I was just watching a video on how to mate an LS4 to 4T80.
That's crazy that the transmission can handle that much power. I wonder what times that car puts down. Seems like keeping the wheels from spinning is a problem.
Could make a heck of a project for a sleeper car. Yeah would be curious about 0-60 and quarter times for the monty.

Thanks for the link, looks like it's quite a project to add the larger transmission, and would require a custom oil pan to attach the starter, along with a lot of grinding, but when done you would have a bulletproof transmission for a very low price. Also I found another video from the guy that built the Monte Carlo and he said he used the computer and harness from an Astrovan to run the transmission. I don't know enough about these computers, is there a separate computer for the transmission, or would that also control the LS4? He also mentioned the van had a wireless pedal, so looks like more parts to add to the Monte Carlo, must need a specialist to program the computer to work all of these properly!
