Bought a bluetooth OBD II scanner, will be trying it out soon to see if any codes show up, but is there a website or application one can use for impala code lookups that's free to use ? It be great if there is an app for blackberry that lets you, got a free one for blackberry but its limited to what codes it can lookup.

Anyone here uses any obd scanners ?

I haven't found a decent cheap application yet. I bought a wifi obd adapter and then looked for programs. I had no luck so I just started using the Tech2 from work. If you find anything good let me know! I am tired of lugging this thing home.

dashcommand is not free app is it ? Plus since this obd scanner is bluetooth and i got a little netbook i did like something for windows since aint got no ipad or iphone or ihook. Just a crakberry.
Is there a site where you can lookup up codes in specific for impala's ? Like a gm website/page ? i can probably cook up a little app for windows using vb if i had a list of codes and what they mean for gm vehicles.

Probably won't find a free one. But I use Torque on my Android phone with the blue tooth adaptor and both cost me less than $20.00. It reads and does more than my $200.00 code scanner can.

The po codes are pretty much the same for all cars.

Of course there are minor differences but yeah
so there are other codes as well and po codes are generic ?

Codes prefixed with a "p" are powertrain codes, most codes are generic and it doesn't matter what the car is.

If people know what codes they have, they can figure it out, so offering to read them would be a service, just don't give half assed diagnostic advice with it!
