Hello I am new to site and just love my 06 impala ss . The only thing I do not like is having to take it out of my garage when it snows. Such is life in new england. I am a long time chevy man and this is my second ss . my first car was a 1970 chevelle ss 396.

Welcome to the ImpalaForum. The 2006 SS is a nice car. It amazes me how much power the enginers could get from a V-6 engine. Is it or does it seem faster and/or more powerful than the 1970 Chevelle SS 396? That one was also a very nice car.

The 06ss is a v8 303 hp. and yes is fast. Not quite as fast as the 396 I had.

Welcome Rayss, nice to see an 06 SS join the forums. Is there any torque steer of take offs with that 06 SS? I was wondering since it had so much hp and was fwd. The Dodge Caliber SRT-4 has 285hp and is FWD and has tones of torque steer.
