My tires are starting to wear out and I will have to replace them soon. I have a 2005 impala. Does any one know any recommended tires that do not create to much road noise?

Depends on your budget. The pirelli p4 is a nice tire, excellent all weather traction, smooth and quiet, 99,000 mile warranty, and about $115 per tire pretty reasonably priced. Falken makes some cheaper ones that are pretty nice, about $75 each.

Whoa shit where you getting these tire prices from ? Your talking the 225 60 16 the 00 wears too right ? That is cheap as hell. I got cheap good years from walmart for more than that....damn....

Our Caddy has Michelin Symmetrys. 225/60/16.

I seem to recall a set of four, all costs included, lifetime rotation and balance, at Sam's club for 400-500 bucks. Super quiet, wear extemely well (came OEM and I replaced with the same tire at about 50K). They are not sports car quality handling, but great in the snow, ultra quiet, wear well - all the criteria needed for that car.

I'm not a fan of the symmetry, traction is so-so and they cost more than the pirelli. Other than that they are a good tire though.

i am going to costco Canada and for the 225/60/16 michelin X (costco sams exclusive)i think there a better tire than the Symmetrys there 135 +15 install ballance and life rotation,nitrogen fill and $70 off with a 4 tire buy. total out the door with all the bs its $610. this is the 2nd set for me and there still not to the wear bars after 6 and 1/2 years and 60000 miles. heres a link Costco.ca: Shop for Tires#

They were the most bang for your buck when I got them, not the best tires I've ever had, but for the price they couldn't be beaten. The best tires I ever had were bridgestone potenza RE910's, they stopped making that model years ago, but they just would not let go.

from what i have had to do with pirelli tires that are here in Canada there a poooor tire for traction tread life. thats less than 30000 miles and there at the wear bars useing tire rotation at 6000 miles

They don't last on the 8th gens, but they do ok on the 7th gens. But even still, with a 99k warranty they are cheap to replace when they wear out.

Yeah for 16's you should be able to find decent tires for around $100 all day. I recommend finding a local tire shop (small business style, not a pep boys) and seeing what the have to offer, if they have any special deals, etc.

Just be careful of buying tires online... On top of the shipping costs (which actually arent that terrible from tirerack), most shops will charge you a pretty penny extra to mount and balance tires that are brought in from an external source. best bet is to call a shop ahead of time and ask what the mounting prices are each way. Ive seen firsthand shops that charge $40 if the tires are bought in house vs. $100 if bought elsewhere. Thats an extra $15 per tire.
