Hi all,

First I'll introduce myself: My name is Gert, I live in Belgium, Europe and
just bought a '91 Caprice Wagon. I already owned a '91 Roadmaster Wagon before and regretted selling it so here is the new toy;
'91 Caprice that used to be a funeral car. Overall condition is very good, it only has 44.000 Km (27.500 miles) on it.

The car has been sitting still for years and the battery was dead. Replaced it and everything works except the red battery light stays on. Guess it's the alternator that needs replacement, but maybe there's some known issues (fuse or so maybe?) that can solve this easier? Probable you guys are more familiar with possible problems of the Caprice alternator :)

I would put a multimeter on it running and see what the voltage is to see if the alternator is working. Cleaning connection is always good too.

Done so and no higher loading voltage when running. Also checked connections, those are okay. So a new alternator is ordered !

Nice wagon! More pics for sure. I regret selling mine too, but I didn't have an option at the time

OK Gert....when you DO take more pics, PLEASE be SURE to include that Volvo P-1800 under cover next to the Cappy!!!! :hope::hope::hope:

Well, talk about a day late.....I'v ebeen busy! LOVE those RIMS! AND that Volvo! I always liked that model! And it looks GREAT in red!:eek:k3:
