My grandaughter has a 2011 impala lt. Said the air quit and the fan, whatever that meant. I picked up the car and it was blowing arctic ice, really good and cold, it was in the 90's.

The next day she said same thing as above. The outside air was 80 and when I check the low side pressure it was running about 45 and of course the air worked for me.

Long story park the car in the shade, start it up, turn on the air and the condenser fan kicks on high and we have cold air.
Park the car in the sun, start it up, turn on the ac, the compressor runs but with no cold air and the condenser fan does not run.

After setting in shade it works and stays working, when it don't work it won't come on till park in shade.

In all cases soon as I hear the outside fan kick into high, we have cold air.
Any ideas, thanks

Late reply but I had the same problem on my grand prix. Turned out to be air in the system causing overpressure (iirc) at higher temps. (In my case no ac over 83 degrees outside temp)
