Hi all, have just picked up a ‘66 impala in need of a lot of love. It runs, but barely. I thought I’d start on the basics before getting into a full rust-blasting restoration…
First problem I’m looking for a bit of help tackling, are these mystery hoses in the engine bay. Looks like two should come out of the cabin firewall, and connect somewhere to the motor. One has been cut and the other is missing. Any idea what they connect to? Thanks in advance for the help!

My suspicion is that they belong to the heating system.

… but that’s a 66 corvette. And I still can’t work out what they’re connecting to in that pic either…

Yeah ok looks like on the other side of the firewall is the heater unit that takes hot water from the engine block and runs it through a small radiator inside the cabin. Looks like it has been bypassed at the engine block… so chances are that the heater unit isn’t there or is leaking (which would explain the missing floor on the passenger side). So won’t be as simple as buying two new hoses and just connecting them up!
