On steering problem I do not have a suggestion other than check the steering fluid level, it could be low.
On the heater/AC there is a blend door control, which you use to temp for each side, most likely the controller is clogged or the vacuum line from it or at the blend door connection is disconnected. Look behind the heater control and under the dash to find which it is.
