Jake's answer is good but I'll go one step further.
The sensors "should" be built into the hub/bearing assemblys so you have only 3 possibilities.
1. Wiring issues
2. Rear sensors are bad and the shop mis-diagnosed the problem, in which case you better get a very very large price break. (discount parts and free labor)
3. Front hubs are defect or not to factory specs which can happen if they were not ACDelco parts. This would also be the shops problem.

Already paid 700$ to change 2 sensors in the front ( as per the garage)
The abs breaks come on and off and it can be while driving on the highway.Sometimes the dash lights up the warning at the same time- other times you just feel it and hear the hum under the car.Anyone out there with a similar experience? What did you do-
The car is a ss/ls and 2003 model

Your car needs both front ABS wiring harnesses replace. There is a GM service bulletin on this concern. Talk to your local Chev. dealer and they might tell you how to do it yourself. It is a pretty easy repair for anyone who has any automotive training. Good luck.
