My cadillac sat for a month and the battery died. I was trying to sell it, so I wanted to charge the battery. I pulled the hood lever and it didnt come up. I assume it needs battery power to lift it. I also opened the trunk with my key, and now it wont close. The battery is dead. Is their any way to get the hood open to charge the battery? How can they make a car that when the battery dies, you cant open the hood to get a new open one? There must be a way a way to open it with any battery power. Please help!

The hood is manually operated. Try spraying some penetrating lubricant or WD-40 right under the lower edge of the hood into the latch area. Otherwise, a mechanic has to access the latch from under the car.

first push down on the hood really hard to re-click it, they try pulling the cable.

if it does not work still, get a screwdriver, lay under the front bumper, and manually unlatch the mechanism where you see the cable attached to the trigger that releases the latch for the hood.
