So I am only getting about 16-17 MPG on my 06 SS and I was wondering if that was standard or low? I wanted to see what other '06 users were getting. I also just started filling it up with premium gas after using regular for about 3-4 weeks and have noticed a slight improvement, nothing too noticeable yet. Is there anything I can do to improve the fuel efficiency? I have about 78K miles on it.

Try a new airfilter,
Check you tire pressures
(some people run the pressure higher than recommended for better fuel economy )

The spark plugs and wires are usually good till at least 100k but you can pull the wires and clean them and check your spark plugs to see if they need to be changed.
The plugs might be shot after running regular gas in it.

I've been averaging just shy of 21 but mines an 08 with over 140K miles on it. I purely run premium fuel and synthetic oil. There is a difference with my car on premium... Better mileage and little more performance :). The more stop and go or putting your right foot into it the worse your gas mileage.
