Has anybody looked at their MAF sensor when they have tried to clean it?

When I cleaned mine there is a dark spot on the sensor itself, inside the housing. Its not on the wires, but the flat piece itself.

I wonder if this could be my problem with dimming/brightening headlights.

Most sensors should be dark in color i do not see an issue, the sensor is not that glass shield you see but is actually housed inside the glass shield. But most sensors tend to be dark in nature. Hence the reason why darth vader has a dark helmet instead of a white one.

Darth Vader is a MAF? I know he is a MF for sure. But an MAF, didn't know that.

Is it where the wires are wielded onto the MAF, that would be normal?

Pic may help if you can get a good one that close up so that we can see what you mean.
