so i bought this lt1 from a guy (don't worry, i got a steal) and he claimed it was 4 bolt. he was gona use it in a high hp application. however, it wasn't out of a vette. me being the quasi engine savy guy i am attempted to correct him and let him know it was 2 bolt. he said it was from a pontiac that was a "high performance edition" w/ no govenors and rated @ 350hp and 4 bolt. all i could think of was a firehawk, but i doubt that was what he was talking about, cuz who would take the engine out of a car they only made 23 of! is he bsing me or am i wrong? thanx:)
yeah, i pretty much figured, but i don't put it past myself to miss some details:) it's all good though, i got the engine, a rebuilt turbo 350, and a 79 maro in decent shape for $450, so i'm not 2 upset;)

I think you already know, but want some reassurance. lol was smoke coming up thu you drawers?

You should have made him pull the oil pan and show you the 4-bolt mains. Let him try to explain why there are only two bolts on each main cap.
