We bought this 04 LS used but it didnt have a key fob so I ordered one on fleabay thats supposed to be for this car, and it wont program. Ive done the correct procedure I found here and other places with no luck. I read there could be an issue with the receiver? But I havent found any info where its at, or how to check it, any help

I recently bought a genuine GM fob for my brother's 2001 Monte Carlo and it programmed on the first attempt.

I would return the knock-off (probably made in China.....) fob and buy a genuine new GM fob. They are not very expensive.

Good luck.

LS 04 should be standard. Look on your RPO codes in trunk for AU0. ON the remote you want to make sure that on the back it has the same digits that your OEM one has/had.

For the Impala 01-05 should use 10443537 for ACDELCO. or C02028 for knockoff

James

For the 00 Impala you can't use that remote for 01-05

Car didnt come with a fob, but it looks like it was standard on these, didnt look at the rpo code yet but everything ive found says it was standard, to damn cold at 15 degrees to be outside fiddling around looking for something that you dont know where to look for lol, I saw under the carpet passenger side eff that, to cold lol. So im thinking about going out and replacing this ignition lock cylinder but then I started thinking that id like to keep the original key so idk, rekey it to old key, or just use 2 keys??? hmmm... I guess I need to figure out what happens if I rekey new cylinder, but have the same issues with the key being a pita to turn because of the tumblers or whatever, I swap over...

I appreciate the input. I already sent it back to the person I bought it from and am getting some genuine gm ones, even cheaper than this other one was, if I have the same problem then Ill know its something in the car and not me, to easy to mess it up though, unless its the receiver in the car

To find your RPO code there is a Paper that is attached to your Trunk lid on the Left side. It will be white with Black letters. At the top it will have the VIN. Then there is loads of 3 digits codes. AU0 is for Keyless. IT would be at the top of the list. Hope your Remote comes for you soon and this thing works out for you in the End.

I've been having the same issue. The vin pulls up that I have keyless entry but the fob wont program. I've heard were gonna have to take it to the dealer. Its 165 for them to do it

Call around. 165 is crazy. Check at another dealer, and look at independent shops. Call locksmiths. Somebody can do this for a lot less. It may still cost 40-50 bucks, but you'll have it fixed and be done with it.

I called gm and they said by pulling my vin my vehicle is not compatible with keyless entry that I have to buy a aftermarket system and have it installed.
