I have been searching for a 1996 impala SS but usually only find out they are a caprice classic. Will a vin# be able to tell me if its a real SS?

Here is the vin of a 96 SS i was going to buy - 1G1BL52P2TR155620

Do any real SS show up as caprice classic? This car im looking at looks like a real SS

Check the SPID (Service Parts Identification) label in the trunk and make sure the VIN matches the VIN on the dash. Look for the code WX3 on the label. If it's there it's an Impala. There should also be a decal on the drivers side cowl, below the hood hinge just behind the front fender.
