I have an 08 SS. About 2 weeks ago I started having issues. The battery was dead so I jump started it and it was fine. Then a couple days later it happened again. Took it to autozone and tested the battery. They said it was at 97% so I figured it was the alternator. Ordered a remanufactured one from rock auto. Before it came I was driving and the battery saver mode came on. I pulled over and it started flashing “service stabilitrak” and “service brake assist” and then the car died. I waited 5 minutes and jump started it and it was fine. The next day I put the new alternator in as well as a new serpentine belt. It was fine for a day. This morning on my way to work it started flashing all those lights again in the drive thru and died. I tried to jump start it and noticed the alternator was smoking so I took the cables off and came to work. Anyone have any idea?
