I have a '94 Thunderbird LX (V8 with 138K miles) and thinking about trading it in towards '00 Impala LS (3.8 with 90k miles). Is that more of a upgrade or downgrade in terms of performance?? or even just period . . .

Also will a better intake and exhaust make it close to the v8 performance??

It's a downgrade in performance and handling and overall in my opinion :)

These would be fairly even in performance, with the T-Bird being slightly quicker.

The performance upgrades you want would be a waste of money, between the two, you might gain about 15 horsepower.

For about the same price, you could get a dry nitrous system and a performance tuner. A good dry nitrous system costs about $300 - $500. The tuner would cost about $400.

These mods will get you 50 - 75 horsepower. Even more if you are willing to risk breaking parts. Then, the Impala would be much faster than the T Bird

Search the Summit Racing website for the upgrades.
