Just bought a 95 SS.....nothing original bout the car...motor tranny etc!!! Just put a tranny in it and when you running on the highway the speedometer is reading wrong....its says im going 110 when im really going 75...buts heres the problem it starts cutting out at 110....I was told my mechanic that this was a pcm problem and that i need to replace!!!??? CAN it be reprogrammed with aanotther pcm or can i plug it up to my laptop and do it myself!!???

Your going to need to include more detail than that.

Isnt the speed sensor something that is mounted to the transmission? Im not sure myself, but is it possible that something was done incorrectly when you put in the new tranny? Do you have stock gearing?

Was the tranny the same yr as the car? Could be a different yr tranny and the PCM would require a flash tune.

If the rear gear ratio changed, the PCM would have to be flashed a tune to calibrate the speedo.

Was your PCM changed? Is it ODB1 or 2?

Do a search for PCM tuners. "PCM for less" is one.
