After letting my 2005 Chevy Impala engine run for about 10 minutes or longer when I turn on the heat it blows out cold air. It normanly takes me to drive a 40 mph for a few minutes before the hot air blows out. I was told that it may need some antifreeze, however when you checked the level it was full. Any suggestions.

That sounds pretty typical, maybe change the thermostat to a lower temperature.

Changing the thermostat is not recommended by the manufacture. The computer relys on the engine reaching a certain temp such as 195 ferenhite. Your car is typical, most cars sence at least the mid 90's do not warm up very fast just setting and idling. These engines warm up while it is being driven. Also the heatercore system bypasses the radiator so it will get hot well before the water gets through the thermostate to the radiator.
