I bought a KN CAI a few months ago. In the box was a copy of the dyno test that showed a 18 hp gain for the installed CAI.

Im not sure if that is based on the entire setup or for the filter itself, which brings me to my question:

Based on this setup here, and your guess as to how much horsepower has been produced?

I think 18hp is preposterous, maybe with a PCM tune, but that's over stock. The PCM tune would account for at least half of that. Other than that, that's a pretty nice filter setup, I like it.

Thanks King. I love the power, just wish i knew some numbers. I know ive seen this with the actual Raiss Intake, which is where i got this idea from.

Sucking hot air from behind the radiator is not good for power, you may well have had some small net gain but it could be a larger gain if you gave it cold air.

Even new vehicles come from the factory with cold air intakes.

Yeah, if you were able to make some sort of scoop like the second pic, that would be ideal.
